The self-management organization as a way for the in situ conservation of native poultry genetic resources

Objective: To identify local organization strategies employed by peasant women to conserve their native hens. Methodology: Informal dialogues were held with five from the rural community of La Cuchilla, Nopala de Villagrán, Hidalgo, Mexico. The information collected was analyzed based on self-management organizational elements. Likewise, proposals three authors used as a foundation for analysis points in question, aim strengthening organization. Results: Peasant use specific self-organization hens, which are considered great value result resistance diseases and adaptation feeding environmental conditions.
